PRO-tektus flame retardants subsume a diverse group of chemicals which are sprayed on manufactured materials, such as plastics and textiles, and surface finishes and coatings. PRO-tektus flame retardants are activated by the presence of an ignition source and are intended to prevent or slow the further development of ignition by a variety of different physical and chemical methods.
PRO-tektus flame retardants are often applied to the following products.
- Furnishings, such as foam, upholstery, mattresses, carpets, curtains, and fabric blinds.
- Electronics and electrical devices, such as computers, laptops, phones, televisions, and household appliances, plus wires and cables.
- Building and construction materials, including electrical wires and cables, and insulation materials, such as polystyrene and polyurethane insulation foams.
- Transportation products, such as seats, seat covers and fillings, bumpers, overhead compartments, and other parts of automobiles, airplanes, and trains.

Fabrics that have been treated with flame retardants are usually certified for one year. If you wash them in your washing machine like any other fabrics
the chemicals dissipate over time.
Depending upon the atmospheric conditions and ventilation, we recommend 24 hours for dry time.
Electrical fires in homes are particularly dangerous because they often spread unseen. How better to prevent or slow down the spread of these unseen fires
than with invisible firemen?
